Compress Image to 20KB
A 20KB target is very strict. It usually works only for tiny profile photos, signatures, low-detail logos, or document-system uploads where the display area is small.

Start with dimensions, not quality
Reducing width and height is the fastest way to hit a 20KB target while keeping the image usable. For many website contexts, an image that small should also be shown small.

Best settings to test
- JPG for photographs without transparency.
- WebP when the receiving platform supports it.
- PNG only for simple graphics that need sharp edges or transparency.
When not to force it
If the page needs a cleaner visual result, use a larger allowance like 50KB or 100KB. A harsh limit can do more damage than good when the image is part of a premium-looking page.
